Welcome to the website of the Sussex Branch of Salmon and Trout Conservation UK (formally the Salmon and Trout Association).

The Branch is independent but is affiliated to and supports the work of the national charity "Salmon & Trout Conservation UK"  Our aim is to represent game anglers in the County of Sussex and help preserve and improve our county's rivers, streams, lakes and reservoirs.  We want to ensure that the whole aquatic environment is protected for future generations to enjoy and benefit from.

Membership of "Cinder Hill Fly Fishing" is also available, providing affordable trout fishing run on a non-profit basis on six lakes near Horsted Keynes in the centre of Sussex. You can find out more about this in the Game Fishing section of the website.

In association with Cinder Hill Fly Fishing, during the year we have stands at the South of England Show, the Connect with the Countryside day for schoolchildren and the Autumn Show & Game Fair, all at the Ardingly Showground. Details of recent years shows and events can be found in the "News and Events" section. Please come along and meet us at one of these events.

Again in conjunction with Cinder Hill Fly Fishing, when possible, we run courses at their lakes for newcomers to fly fishing at which coaching is provided by qualified Game Angling Instructors. More information can be found in the "Instruction" section of the site.

So, whether you are an experienced fly fisherperson, have just taken up the sport, or haven’t ever tried it, we hope you will find the various pages of this website helpful. Otherwise, or for more information, please feel free to contact us and we will do our best to assist or direct you to the right area.
